Most of you are probably already familiar with some of the ones I read (I would particularly like to remind everyone to go read Girl Genius, which is happy fun good times).
However, in the course of the last couple of days (don't ask why) I have blundered across some new ones...which I will tell you about in lieu of venting my feelings of seething hate directed at certain parties who are none of you!
Hereville is the story of an orthodox Jewish girl who wants to be a dragon-slayer. There's something weirdly satisfying about a protagonist who has such a crunchy-distinctive lifestyle-setting, and I find myself liking Mirka right away. There are only a few pages presently available, but I've added the feed to my RSS and look forward to more.
Galaxion, which I first encountered in comic book form (I still need to get that back to Jonathan...DON'T LET ME FORGET next time you come over! ;)), has made it to teh Intarwebs at some point. Huzzah! Now we can all enjoy the sci-fi adventures - somewhat retooled from their print incarnation. (Just take care - the archives are structured kind of strangely.)
Fans of shoujo manga may enjoy Red String, a very, very shoujo-style story full of the various romantic adventures of high schoolers. Heavy on the emotional content, perhaps a touch fluffy, but ah, sue me. Brain candy is yummy.
Also, if anyone here remembers the fairly popular fantasy comic Inverloch (which concluded last year, but it's still up) it looks like the creator has a juicy-looking new comic up at The Phoenix Requiem. (No, I have no idea what the title means either.) It's early days in the story, so I can't really even summarize things for you, but it's kind of tantalizing. Also, hot damn the art is purty. ;)
The art's also quite nice over at Roza, another early-story-stages comic - I like the storybook style of the visuals and narrative, so may wander by to see how it's coming along every so often.
Aaaanyway. Happy weekend, everybody - see you on the other side, and all that.
