The Book Cover Archive has a great collection of beautifully designed covers. I'm particularly fond of the work of Chip Kidd. I know there are several collections of Penguin Books covers out there as well.

French can be quite, um, descriptive. The only French expression I can think of that relates to nostalgia is ‘nostalgie de la boue’, which means ‘longing for the mud’ (looking to get down & dirty, in the vernacular), but I don’t think that’s what you had in mind. *snerk*

I love Weird Westerns too! I suggest Emma Bull’s Territory (vol 1 of a duology, vol 2 TBA), which is excellent. I’m going to start Gemma Files’ Gunslingers as soon as I finish my current read. I posted a Weird Western music video by Muse the other day (Knights of Cydonia, it’s a classic).
